If you were moved and inspired by the movie Fireproof, you might want to check out the film’s Music Soundtrack selections featuring songs by contemporary Christian groups and artists, such as Casting Crowns, Leeland, Third Day, John Waller, Grey Holiday and Warren Barfield to name a few. I had an opportunity to hear some of the tracks courtesy of Fireproof iMix from iTunes.

I find the song selections clever and appropriate to match the varying moods of the film scenes. To the uninitiated, most of the tracks were already pre-released hits from the artists and were not original songs made for the movie. “Slow Fade” by Casting Crowns is one noteworthy track, with its powerful message warning us of the dangers we face as we slowly succumb to the draws of the world.

One track also worth mentioning is the hit from John Waller, “While I’m Waiting”. This song captured my attention in the movie as it was run lengthily during the impasse between the main protagonists of the story. Being bold and confident on the Lord as you wait upon Him is such a strong and potent message in the midst of an uncertain predicament.

Other songs in the sampler are:

  1. "You Belong To Me" – Grey Holiday
  2. "Brighter Days" – Leeland
  3. "This Is Who I Am" – Third Day
  4. "Otherside" – Third Day
  5. "Love Is Not A Fight" – Warren Barfield

By the way, the film’s official movie soundtrack was released last July 14, 2009 and contains 17 tracks including all of the tracks from the sampler that I mentioned above.

A good music compile worth listening to as you continually meditate on God’s comforting words.
